2nd April 2011, the Legend has been born in Mumbai’s Wankhede stadium in the history of India to be cherished for many years to come. The streets were empty and all eyes were glued to the TV. The men in Blue have finally done it to end 28 long years of drought. India beat Sri Lanka in a nail-biting contest to win the World Cup 2011. India is now the 1st Asian Country to win the World Cup more than once.

A memorable day to be idolized for future world cups to come. A nation where cricket has been regarded somewhere at par with the religion.
The India-Sri Lanka Cricket World Cup final has smashed all previous records for television viewership ever and increased almost fourfold. According to Audience Measurement and Analytics Ltd (aMap) – a viewer-ship rating agency, almost 67.6 million viewers saw the match for over four hours which was more than the combined viewership of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Cricket is not popular in most of the countries but even then it is considered to be one of the most watched and followed games of the World because India alone comprises of 1/6thof World’s population.
The Indian Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has now become the new Pied Piper of the country leaving every Indian to look upon him. His every single move, from his hairstyle to helicopter shot is now followed by millions. The journey of a small town boy to the highly regarded Indian Cricket Team to be adored by millions seems like a fantasy tale coming true. Indian Captain at his best – Ingenuity of mind, changing of batting order and bowling plans according to situation counts for the excellent captaincy capabilities of MS Dhoni.
